Named after the creator, Mike, four most frequent posters, Brittany, Jason, Anna, Sarah and newest member Dorothy. archives Sunday, February 24, 2008 I thought you had died J! http://www.cnn.com/2007/SHOWBIZ/books/03/07/captain.america/index.html Glad to see the reports of your demise have been greatly exaggerated. I don't suppose any of us three have much in common anymore, for example you are MARRIED and we are single(me) and dating?(Brat). We're all on opposite ends of the wheel. But that doesn't mean I don't care. Yes even about you Brat. I don't fret much about the frequency of the posting or not talking to you much J because I feel our friendship has a solid foundation and if we we're to go even years (though hopefully not) without talking we could still meet up and pick up like old times. Still I have been very negligent in keeping everyone informed on my comings and goings. Mostly because there's so very little to report. I'll do my best though since you're begging. Anna is back from the Ashram. At first for medical reasons (turned out to probably be a vitamin deficiency) but quickly succumbed to the temptations of the outside world. Like hanging out with me and TV etc. To be honest she was a pretty terrible nun, which I say with love because I'm certainly glad to have her back around! So I think it's for the best. She, Joules and myself are kind of a threesome again and sometimes Joules boyfriend Nathan makes it a foursome with a weekly LOST party. Great season so far btw and the strike is over! Hallejulah. Shame on you for thinking anything dirty when I said threesome. Soon I'll be Storytelling a nWOD game with them and possibly 2 others so wish me luck. I know Deja Vu right? Last time this was about when things took a downturn so fingers crossed. I don't know if I mentioned but I became friends with one of my roommates, Jim, who had to move but he is also back now, living in Redwood City so that's good. No school this semester. I know BOOOO Bad Mike. I got your text J which made me realize I should check the blog. HEHE. I'm surprised you have the time to play an MMO. I'm even more surprised you FINALLY started playing EVE. Seriously you've been mentioning that for how long now? Has to be a few years. I'd already checked it out the first time you mentioned it back in High School lol. Loved the premise. Most surprising of all is that E'lise lets you play hehehe. Speaking of gaming still no next-gen console? I've got 360 and Mass Effect is fabulous. Imagine me saying Fabulous as gay as possible to get an idea how fabulous. Surprisingly I've just got no time for an MMO. HEHEH I know ME not have time for a game. But with the DMing, and being in a play by post game, and this fat stack of PS2 games Jim loaned me, plus the 360 games I still want to buy, added to work and I will be back in school next semester, and hanging with Anna and Jim and TV and reading and future PS3 games and Sins of a Solar Empire etc. I just can't squeeze it in because I'd have to replace all that with: MMO. Even before I just had to quit WOW and City of Villains. Lotta fun but such a time sink! Now that Anna and I have teamed up again though we've AGAIN been kicking around the idea of an epic road trip and if we actually end up doing it of COURSE we'd be stopping by. You make sure to tell E'Lise I said hello and that I hope to see you guys again in the not TOO distant future and you both Take Care. Hey btw what did you do for Valentine's Day? posted by Mikael, Shady, God 3:18 AM Wednesday, February 06, 2008 It pains me to see this blog dieing, even though I am one of the chief culprits. Are we silent because we don't have much in common anymore? I am SO bad at staying in touch with friends, but I really don't want to fall out with you guys. As soon as you are finished reading this, you need to post an update for the group. I mean it! I've started flying nights now with night vision goggles, and it is freaking hard. Normally a person has about a 200 degree field of view, but with goggles you only have 40 degrees. The way to make up for that is constantly moving your head and scanning. Which is really hard sometimes. For example, when I'm picking the helicopter up to a hover I want to look in front of me to make sure I'm level with the horizon. But if I don't constantly move my head to see down and to the right, I'll start drifting and won't be able to tell. In other news, I've put in my wish list for my next assignment. It's kind of rediculous, I'm just now asking for my duty station, and most of the officers I graduated with have been at their post for almost 2 years, and so are halfway done with their commitment. I wont even start on my debt of six years until I leave here. I asked for Fort Bragg, North Carolina as my top choice, which is the 82nd Infantry Division. They have a reputation for being an excellent unit- lots of esprit de corps, and discipline to do the job well. I thought it would be cool to be part of a division with so much history and it will also be a good start for my career if I decide to stay in the Army. Hopefully E'Lise will be able to get into a university in NC to start on her history post-grad. Some pretty big names like Duke and Chapel Hill are in NC, so maybe we'll get lucky. Dixie is still a faithful hound, and alternatly drives us crazy and warms our hearts. Hope you all are doing well, and I look forward to reading your updates! posted by Jason 9:29 PM |
