Named after the creator, Mike, four most frequent posters, Brittany, Jason, Anna, Sarah and newest member Dorothy. archives Wednesday, August 31, 2005 Movies?? Heh. I remember those... Yeah. I do get pretty excitable about getting killed. Kenny sometimes can't deal...I yell and pound things and pout and get loud. Other times, I'm like "that was hella lame - I hope you die. It depends. I realize that I am candy for many, so I deal. Not only am I one of the millions of whimpy night elves, but I'm also a clueless girl playing mostly for the pretty. What can I do? Picking a school is exciting and scary. I can't believe I'm graduating with two AA's and 4-6 certificates. Rock! Snow Patrol?! Not so indie. But good. Keane is not as well known, but they are on the same track as Snow Patrol and Coldplay. I just bought Kenny tickets to see the Foo Fighters, Weezer, and Hot Hot Heat for his birthday. Yay! posted by Anonymous 11:15 PM Saw the 40 Year Old Virgin. Go see it right now. Goddamn hilarious. posted by Mikael, Shady, God 10:27 PM Oh, well I haven't heard them on the radio. Probably because I don't really listen to it. I guess they aren't that indy. Uh, Minus the Bear is a good seattle band. posted by Jason 7:44 AM How indy is Snow Patrol? They get played on the radio. But yes their great. I've been listening to them since last year. posted by Mikael, Shady, God 1:21 AM Tuesday, August 30, 2005 Ya, getting killed sucks, especially when its by gankers (people rediculously higher level than you). It's not just horde though, alliance do it to. I'm just getting into zones lately with my new character where I'm getting ganked. It sucks, but makes things a little more exciting sometimes. Heheh, Brit- I can just see you sitting hunched over your keyboard playing and then screaming when a hordey shows up and wastes you :D I wish you were on my server so it could be me. Should I just give up hope on getting that email you said I'd get so long ago? Speaking of Indy rock, look up Snow Patrol. They rox0r my box0rs. posted by Jason 7:59 PM Sunday, August 28, 2005 I'm going to be a whiney little girl and say that I hate horde and being killed and not being is safe zones anymore. Life was so much easier as a low level. Not that I'm in the 20s, EVERYTHING kills me. I can't do quests alone because I'm embarrassed to group with strangers who know what they're doing. But I play on. Sorta. Depending on where I am, the lags get so bad that I might as well not play. However, I do want to say that if you like indie alternative rock bands, I highly reccomend The Love Makers. I saw them yesterday at a free show in Rasputin's. A) They rocked. B) The were really hot...at one point I totally thought the love making was going to happen on stage. C) They are really nice and I got autographs and a few pictures. Yay for indie bands! posted by Anonymous 10:53 AM Thursday, August 25, 2005 Just saw a Comedy Central commercial for a comedy hour with Eddie Griffin. So the commercial's hyping it up like it always does when it says "Uncensored!" followed IMMEDIATELTY by a clip of Eddie Griffin making a joke and a word beeped out. Gotta love the irony. Or maybe it was deliberate joke? It was Comedy Central. posted by Mikael, Shady, God 4:53 AM Tuesday, August 23, 2005 I just realized as an atheist I can call any hour of the day ungodly! 12pm? Ugh what are you doing up at this ungodly hour? MWHEHEH posted by Mikael, Shady, God 6:04 AM Monday, August 22, 2005 Yeah. I wasn't kidding about that. I think we "caught up" around 3 or 4 times in a 24 hour period too(I got home late and needed sleep). And as long as we're sharing, maybe I'll let you know how Kenny and I caught up. The boy actually planned it out. Hotness. Anyway, you should really try sessions of WoW and playtime with E'Lise. We've been balancing the two. All our friends joke about us messing around in front of the computers while playing, but I like reminding people that it would not be possible. I can't even talk, let alone use a mouse and keyboard during those times. This semester is heavy on effort. So much. I only had 3 hours of classes today, but I'm completely exhausted. I'm at work right and all I can think about is dinner. I just have no energy at all. posted by Anonymous 3:43 PM We caught up three times saturday. posted by Jason 12:17 PM You're not kidding Brat. posted by Mikael, Shady, God 5:18 AM Sunday, August 21, 2005 Catch up, eh?? Yeah. I know all about that "catching up". ;) Just kidding. But I also know about long plane flights and layovers. Those suck. I've made an alt on the Dark Iron server, but I haven't played that one much. My night elf is nearly lvl 20, so I've been concentrating on that. Besides, I'm not all that great of a player - it's just for fun for me - so I don't know if you'd really want to play with me anyway. I die a lot. =P posted by Anonymous 6:14 PM Saturday, August 20, 2005 I wish I could hop onto that server with you brit but I'm working on an Undead on a different server (can't think of its name now). I got back to WA last night and I'm home now. It's very nice to be back. I was travelling for a long time. The flight across the pacific was 10.5 hours, and I had two others as well, including layovers in the airports. I'm going to start playing WoW again in a day or two after I've had sufficient time to catch up with E'Lise. posted by Jason 10:23 AM Friday, August 19, 2005 I just found out that I could have transfered last year. Oops. But since I didn't, I can graduate from Ohlone in spring with at least one AA degree. I'm shooting for two, but we'll see what happens. After that, I leave my familiar comfort zone of schools in Fremont. I have to find somewhere else to go. I already have decided against Cal State East Bay (formerly Hayward) and San Jose State because EVERYONE goes there. I'm thinking about going across the bay or something. Just for some distance. But I need to figure this out soon because I have to apply in November! Craziness. Everything is coming along so quickly. It's nice to see that I've covered some ground in this school business though. Not all my effort has been in vain. Also, the lease for the house I'm living in now is up in November, so we either keep the house with some roommate changes or Kenny and I find roommates and an apartment. Scary and exciting all at the same time. He's getting close to graduating from DeVry and getting good job placement somewhere. That should be really nice. However, all this real life junk takes away from my WoW playing time and I find that highly annoying. I haven't played much this week because of school. I can cram some time in over the weekend, I hope. For tonight, it's sushi night! posted by Anonymous 1:38 PM Sorry. I guess I should have mentioned Julia is back in Fremont. She's working at Starbucks and going to Ohlone. It will be for at least a semester. I should have given you a heads up but I just didn't make the connection. But do you see what I mean?? Stagnating! I should have mentioned that. Urgh. posted by Mikael, Shady, God 2:04 AM Thursday, August 18, 2005 I have been sucked into WoW, so I haven't been checking up on things here, but it's nice to see some activity. My pretty little night elf is lvl 18 now. It's awesome. And since Penny Arcade hoped on a server, one of my favorite web comic artists joined, so Kenny and I hoped on the bandwagon. I have a human warlock now. Good times. Speaking of seeing people from high school - before classes started I was at Ohlone and I saw Julia. I took me a second to realize who she was. I didn't say anything. She smiled, but had already passed before I could register who she was. It's funny cause I'm not mad at her anymore. I don't remember what bothered me anyway, but I didn't seek her out either simply because I do remember all the drama surrounding her and I didn't want to deal with that. Huh. Well, it's off to work with me and some more classes. posted by Anonymous 12:34 PM Monday, August 15, 2005 I was using the ninja out of Complete Adventurer with weapons out of Oriental Adventures. I'm not sure if its because the ninja is overpowered or I'm just not used to playing higher lvl characters (I was 7) but it seemed like my character was pretty badass. The others were too though, so I think its the level. The ninja isn't much for fighting, but can definatly ensure the fight is on his terms. posted by Jason 2:53 PM LMAO! HEHEHE Hilarious Jason Hilarious. Definitely a dickhead that one. Id have told him to go play some GTA. And in character I definitely would have poisoned him. But I like chaotic neutral as you know. :) Obviously a fucking loser. Anyways Warforged ninja though very kewl. Im curious what ninja you used? There's prestige class ones, base class ones, unnoficially created ones, ones created in Dragon magazine etc. Ive heard most are pretty cheesy. Ninja seems to bring out the munchkin in people. :-D For obvious reasons. Too bad I couldn't have been there. Down here in California I saw Jenni Cheung for the first time in almost 2 years. It was brief. Like an hour and a half. But it was nice to see her and catch up a little. She hasn't changed a whole lot which is good since I hate change and someone you like changing rarely changes into something you'll like more. Then I scurried off to work. posted by Mikael, Shady, God 1:15 AM Sunday, August 14, 2005 DnD didn't go so hot last night. The guy who was DM was cool, but the other guy who played with us was a dick. He insisted on playing an evil character, and his approach was essentially If I don't get my way I'll kill you. He spent the whole time we were playing demanding more than his fair share, drinking, telling the female character to suck his dick, swearing at us, talking shit, and whenever he wasn't doing these things he was slowing the game down by getting distracted by a video game that a girl was playing right beside us. The thing that bugged me most about him was that he would brag about his character, or other characters. It's guys like him that give dnd a bad name. I still managed to have some fun though because, hey- Its dnd :D I was playing a warforged ninja and would have been pretty kick ass in a decent party. Oh, and the DM threw 2 CR 8 monsters at a party of 3 level 7 characters. For those of you that don't speak nerd, ONE CR (challenge rating) 8 monster would be a challenge for a party of 4 level 8 characters, and we got 2. My character was raped in the suprise round because for some reason the monster got a full attack as a standard action, and was left with 3 hp. The warlock was killed in the first or second main round, and the fighter (the evil dickhead) dimension doored away leaving me to carry the body or run away. Sigh. posted by Jason 4:34 PM Saturday, August 13, 2005 Anagrams: Dormitory = Dirty Room Evangelist = Evil's Agent Desperation = A Rope Ends It The Morse Code = Here Come Dots Slot Machines = Cash Lots in 'em Mother-in-law = Woman Hitler Snooze Alarm = Alas! Can't see how that's my fault. I mean who else can realize the incredible chick-magnet power of a dragon? But Mana strongly implied she held me accountable while having no intention whatsoever of actually contributing. So here I am in all my dazzling glory ready to... um... Dazzle you. Right. I think I'm stagnating. I'm finding it harder to remeber the things I want to and used to remember and I'm always forgetting to use the voice recorder so it's been harder for me to have something to jot down on the blog. Mayhaps I'm in a rut or worse. What I need to do is settle into a nice groove. Which is of course another way to say rut but in a much more positive light. I better do something quick to shake up my life or at least myself. Especially with my 22nd birthday coming up. Yes, I worked that in nicely. Expect calls people. Expect calls. Start using that nifty caller id. Oh but not calls about the birthday. Expect long letters about that. ;-) What else? Well I do funny things at work that I could mention here but don't think it'd translate well to print. I'll try and meet up with everyone and act it out for your enjoyment. In other news the penguins are on the march and the armies of the world shall crumble at their onslaught. None can resist the awesome power of their insidious cuteness. I will make Mana post since she should be back from her cruise very soon. Oh yes in case you didn't know she went on a cruise with her grandmother to Alaska. We should all be so resourceful in beating the heat. I will try and force myself to blog more using the impending celebration of my birth as an impetus, which will incidentally probably be celebrated by either going to work or sitting alone at home watching the latest show my wonderful dvr capable computer has recorded while eating food that has no nutritional value whatsoever. C'est la vie. posted by Mikael, Shady, God 2:45 AM Monday, August 08, 2005 I did get the email. I just haven't thought of a thoughtful repsonse yet. =) When do you get home to the states again, anyway? My character's name is lame because I couldn't think of anything fast enough and I just wanted to play, but it's kinda fits...I guess. Shyla (level 12!) on Ner'Zhul. I'm on pretty much on everyday. Usually in the morning or really late at night. I don't know what to say about my trip except that terrorism and war suck. Eastern Europe still has not recovered from WWII and the soviet reign there. One city I stayed in still had all communist buildings that were all delapidated and scary looking. I didn't even leave the hotel there. Berlin and the story of the wall is interesting. I also saw a very harrowing halocaust memorial in Berlin. That whole city was pretty incredible. My favorite place was Krakow, in Poland. Beautiful buildings, a big renaissance style sqaure, a castle with a dragon, a female king, and horse drawn carriages. Just lovely. So much character. England and Wales were also very cool. It was nice to stay with a family and see what real life was like compared to being a loner tourist. Overall, I'm really proud of myself for sticking to it and going. I got pretty homesick, but the experiences and the sites were priceless. I'll be in debt for a while too, but I still think it was worth it. Also, I have another friend moving up to Seattle this month, so maybe I'll have more incentive to come up and visit you and E'Lise and your parents too. posted by Anonymous 3:27 PM Friday, August 05, 2005 Glad you didn't get hurt in the bombings Brit. 1) Did you get my email? never got a response. 2) Server/character name in WoW? posted by Jason 6:53 PM I'm FINALLY home. What a home coming! Kenny bought me my own copy of WoW and no surprises here, but I've made a pretty little night elf with purple hair. Woot! My little brother is giving me 80 gold. Niiiiiiiiiiice. I've pretty much moved in with Kenny as well. While I was away, he bought a new dek that could fit all three of our computers. We also bought me a dresser for *some* of my clothes and a big CD rack. I see my parent's for dinner, but that's about it. I got other presents, but some I don't care to share with all y'all. Too bad, so sad. =P However, in order to have my computer even touch WoW...it had to upgraded...to the tune of $560. I had a 4MB video card in there and I can tell you, it was not sexy. I had no where near enough RAM and my mother board was too out of date to get a lot of stuff for, so I just went with all new stuff and now I have a shiny new glowy case and a happier computer. (We were up til 5:30am working on it. Well, I played WoW on his laptop while he worked on it. hehe!) As for the trip...it was nice. I was homesick, but it was great to be on my own and see the world. (Especially from the passenger seat of a brand new Bentley.) The bombings were scary. I wasn't in London for the first attacks, but I was actually in the tube for the second attacks (was evacuated without harm) and was on a train near London for the three attack threats. Oy oy oy. Scary stuff. I'll update more. Today has sucked majorly, but I'll tell about you what I saw when I get a chance. posted by Anonymous 4:27 PM |
