Named after the creator, Mike, four most frequent posters, Brittany, Jason, Anna, Sarah and newest member Dorothy. archives Wednesday, December 31, 2003 I just got back from seeing "Return of the King" and I'm like...wow. That was an amazing movie. But it had like...5 endings or something. I'd think it was over and then a new scene would start. Craziness. No complaints. Everything I wanted to happen was done, so I left happy and satisfied. Weirdness, however, is bumping into Julia in the Safeway close to my house after 1am. Apparently, she just got back from running around the country and most recently, Colorado. She also finished an art project that she'd been carrying around since senior year or something. All I could say is "that art stuff is heavy." Even more ridiculous, is that I'm still angry with her. I was civil, but instantly was reminded of my grudge. Mike still thinks (I'm sure the rest too) I should be over it, but its a bigger deal to me. Its an identity thing, and there is way too much to explain, but basically, I may never live it down even though I'm far beyond it. Like I said, it's hard to explain. Anyway. I have an early wake up call tomorrow. Off to bed to dream of Arwen and her Kind living happily ever after. posted by Anonymous 1:27 AM Monday, December 29, 2003 One of my good friends, Brian, had another dog that I got attached too. Not as much as Bear, but I liked this dog a lot. Her name was Cindy. Brian's dad found her in the rain, tongue out, by the gate. She was still warm when he found her. Other family members arrived home as he was drying her off in the garage. I think she was waiting for someone to get home safe in the storm, heard a familiar voice, and was comforted enough to pass on. She wasn't in any sort of bad health, but had started to show signs of age. Brian is pretty upset about it. I'm off to a late night visit with him at the coffee house to talk. Things in my life suck right now, but his pain is heavy and I empathize. I miss having pets. I miss Bear. I miss Feste (horse that we had to put down right before Halloween). I miss Florabelle. Now I just want something to pet and cuddle. posted by Anonymous 11:18 PM Saturday, December 27, 2003 Just got the game Rainbow Six 3: Raven Shield today with some christmas cash. I hope its good. posted by Jason 10:53 PM Thursday, December 25, 2003 For a household with parents who don't have jobs and have no income, we have A LOT of presents under our tree. I don't think I've seen so many presents since I was a little kid. I don't get it. They are covering half the living room. Its really pretty crazy. Sandra has special tree ornaments too: a dead tarantula (whose legs have all fallen off and been super glued back on several times) and a completely intact snake skin. I have an odd best friend, but I can't picture her any different. Happy Holiday, all. posted by Anonymous 2:22 AM Wednesday, December 24, 2003 Merry Christmas :) posted by Jason 11:43 PM Tuesday, December 23, 2003 While we were putting up our christmas tree and decorating it, we found a little clump of Bear's hair on one of the lower branches. We decided not to take it off. I think it's my favorite ornament of all. posted by Jason 3:00 PM Monday, December 22, 2003 I still haven't seen the pretty elf movie with some guys, horses, and a ring. :( I might see it on IMAX tomorrow night. I'm working the parents up to it. :) posted by Anonymous 11:22 AM Saturday, December 20, 2003 LOTR: Return of the King was AWESOME!! I thought it was going to be spectacular and I found I had underestimated it. posted by Jason 3:38 PM Friday, December 19, 2003 I just watched parts one and two of "All things good...", one of the best startrek tng episodes ive ever seen. At least, I think thats what it was called. Anyway, Picard had to solve a problem by learning things in three different time lines. Hard to explain, but it was a really cool paradox. posted by Jason 4:03 PM Seabiscuit was good the first and second time. The book is even sadder and has more drama than the movie, if you can imagine that. I have few real life comments on the horses in the movie, which is good. (Speaking of horses, I'm going to the ranch in 15 minutes) Still haven't seen Last Samurai, mostly because its a Tom Cruise (ew) movie and Mike isn't around to make me go. (Who still wants a call) I FINISHED FINALS!!!! Whoo!! I think I might have passed math. I made a killing on my English final. And the other final was singing and I did better than most in my class. I want grades now, but I'll probably forget that I want them after this weekend. I finally got around to seeing the extended versions of The Fellowship and Two Towers and I liked them A LOT more than the regular movies. However, I fear the last chapter because I had to take four bathroom breaks in the middle of the home DVDs. I won't do that in a theater. I'll probably squirm in pain first. I don't have plans to see it yet, but I'm sure I can find some friends who wouldn't mind seeing it again. If you want to see something that makes me proud, go here: http://members.lycos.co.uk/bbrat100/gwen rapping.jpg This is my neice, taking over her last performance, singing at the top of her lungs in to the mic. I think it looks like she's rapping with the pony tail, baggy pants, and the lean-in to make more emphasis. But yeah. This is my 2 year old niece. She may beat me to fame. :) Horses are calling, but so is my toothbrush. posted by Anonymous 8:37 AM Tuesday, December 16, 2003 The Last Samurai is a great movie. Sad, but awesome. Seabiscuit is good, but kinda slow for me. The horses are beautiful though. posted by Jason 10:13 PM Monday, December 15, 2003 I maintain that anything war related annoys me and does not affect me, so I most ignore it. The whole thing about Saddam is...I don't even have words. I'm glad we can save another nation, but in doing that we've destoyed it too. And when that story was on the news, I was all sad about my whale's death. Keiko, the killer whale (known as Free Willy to all you other people) died after being freed into the wild for a year and a half. This whale proved it could be done in the most unlikely of conditions. I care more about a whale than some evil guy from another country. posted by Anonymous 12:00 PM Sunday, December 14, 2003 So they got Saddam. I think its pretty cool that we found him, and that he probably deserves death for what he did, but I can't really help but have pity on the guy. Not only does everyone in the US hate the guy, but nearly everyone in his own country hates the guy. I can't decide if he should be treated the same way he treated those people he tortured and murdered, or if we should just prove that we're better and just get his execution over with. posted by Jason 1:08 PM Friday, December 12, 2003 ALL DONE!!! WOOOOOOO!!! But really this quarter wasn't that hard. Next quarter might be worse. Happy Holidays y'all. posted by Jason 10:48 AM Tuesday, December 09, 2003 one final down, two left; one of them in 1 hour 50 minutes. hmmm. study time. posted by Jason 12:11 PM Saturday, December 06, 2003 Mike says hi and wants Jason to call him. Yes, I have his number, I'm just not sure its safe to post it on here. posted by Anonymous 11:27 AM Thursday, December 04, 2003 go to google and search for "miserable failure" (minus the quotation marks). pay special attention to the first result. then search for "french military victories" and hit im feeling lucky. i think its pretty revealing what the result for that is. posted by Jason 6:45 PM Wednesday, December 03, 2003 Its hard to go to sleep when you have "The Battle" from the Gladiator soundtrack stuck in your head. posted by Jason 7:45 AM |
